Dog Safety Matters

Dog bites are a serious but preventable issue, and children are the most common victims.

500,000 Dog Bites

In Canada, over 500,000 dog bites occur annually, with children under 10 being the most affected.

Familiar Dogs

Most bites happen at home or with familiar dogs, often due to misunderstandings of canine behavior.

Educate

Studies show that proper education can significantly reduce dog bite incidents by teaching children how to safely approach and interact with dogs.

What We Do: Interactive Dog Safety Education

Our SafePAWS program offers two tailored presentations for students:

🦴 Grades 1-5 – Fun, engaging, and interactive lessons on how to safely approach and interact with dogs.

🦴 Grades 6-8 – More advanced insights into canine behavior, body language, and responsible pet ownership.

Each SafePAWS Session Includes

✔️ Certified canine handlers & trained therapy dogs demonstrating safe interactions.
✔️ A PowerPoint presentation with engaging audio clips, videos, & visuals showing real-life scenarios.
✔️ Hands-on demonstrations of positive introductions and respectful interactions.
✔️ Interactive Q&A where students can ask questions and deepen their understanding.
